ABOUT THE PROS PLAN

Our goal is to plan for the future of Belmont’s parks, recreation, and open spaces as the community’s preferences and needs evolve over time. The PROS Plan provides a clear path to accomplishing the community’s vision through achievable steps in both the short term and long term, maximizing the potential and ensuring sustainability of the parks, recreation, and open space system as a whole.

PROJECT STATUS

Beginning in Fall 2022, the PROS Plan underwent the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review process to analyze the proposed recommendations for Belmont’s parks, recreation, and open space system. The PROS Plan and associated Open Space Management Plan (OSMP) are analyzed in an Addendum to the General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The overreaching goal of this process is to ensure the PROS Plan and OSMP continue to benefit our community, our residents, and our environment for years to come.
